Over the years and several diverse careers, Mark Hordyszynski has striven to excel beyond the everyday design challenges presented to him. "It's the act of creating that I find most challenging. I never know how a project is going to turn out because through it all, it's always a work in progress. I feel I am only the channel, which allows the creation to create itself. Having just relocated to Maui (the Hawaiian Islands), I am becoming a part of the lifestyle and look forward to seeing how living in a unique and artistic community will influence my person and creativity. Born and bred in New York City, I graduated from both the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY and the Fashion Institute of Technology. I have worked both in the front of the house and in the kitchen of restaurants, hotels and an affluent country club; designed menswear, run my own small business, and am an artist, the author of two books, an award winning photographer and fabric designer.
